Strike Freedom: Proportions of all kits

Looking at the MG Strike Freedom reminds me about why I did not want to buy the 1/144 HG Strike Freedom

Below is the picture of all Strike Freedom model kits (excluding SD since it is intended to be disproportioned)

Best to enlarge it since the thumbnail is so small

From left to right:
1/144 NG
1/144 HG
1/100 NG
1/100 MG
1/60 Lightning Edition
1/60 PG

To take a closer look at these kits...

1/144 NG
Gives a short and stubby feeling, feels like the Strike Freedom is squashed downwards by gravity. Wings are way too short and wide.

1/144 HG
Very similar to the 1/144 NG, short and stubby. However the wings are longer, which makes it look slightly sleeker, though it still looks stubby because of the width of the wings.

1/100 NG
Very similar to the 1/144 HG though the legs are slightly longer. However, the width of the wings still does not help at all

1/100 MG
Sleekest proportions among the kits, definitely 9 head tall superhero proportions... wings are just right, they look sleek and elegant. Gives the impression that the Strike Freedom is fast and agile

1/60 Lightning Edition
Still quite sleek looking however stubbier than the MG. The wings is slightly wider than the MG in terms of proportion, but still looks good.

1/60 PG
Similar proportions to the Lightning Edition, wings are still sleek looking. The design gives it a slightly more muscular look.

If I were to rank the kits according to proportions, it would look like this
1. 1/100 MG
2. 1/60 PG
3. 1/60 Lightning Edition
4. 1/100 NG
5. 1/144 HG
6. 1/144 NG

1/100 MG Strike Freedom Full Burst Mode (TT Hongli) - Part 2

I think there is so much to do with this... I decided to make another part...

Got some sandpaper....

Disassembled the outer armor... showing the crap coloured gold inner frame...

Sanded the white parts, end result

Applied stickers and decals the next day

Strike Freedom kick!

1/100 MG Strike Freedom Full Burst Mode (TT Hongli)

Yes TT Hongli may sound bad (or even a taboo) to some, but its' cheap. So why not?

My parcel arrived on Friday from Taobao

1/100 MG Strike Freedom Full Burst Mode (TT Hongli) + Wings of Light add on

Total damage is $79.76, really painful shipping... next time I'll go by sea freight.

Many runners... about 20+ I counted OMG

First did the frame of the torso

The torso is complete

Forgot to take the picture of the head sorry

The arms and shoulders are done

The legs are done... nice joints seriously

Hip railguns done... so very cool

Waist done...

Finally the wings

Unveiling... the completed Strike Freedom Gundam

Nice wing span

Fail attempt to replicate my wallpaper

Many unused effect runners

Gundam SEED Strike Freedom

Beam saber is cool...

But double is cooler

Burst mode

Now this is why I bought the Strike Freedom Full Burst Mode

FULL BURST MODE + Wings of Light!

Seriously enjoyed this kit... the building process is long but definitely rewarding seeing how things turn out.

SD Destiny

This is a really old model, I bought it years ago, way back when my model kits often fall apart quickly. This one survived and stays in my shelf now.

This is taken before painting. I lost the beam cannon when I found the model, oh well...

Painting for this was fast, not too bad...

Pardon the lighting, I forgot to turn the flash off

1/144 EG Exia

The final EG I am going to buy, because it is the last one I do not have. Bought it to reward myself for finishing the arduous journey of project work.

Why does it come shrink-wrapped? I bought it from another branch of the same shop, yet most of my EG kits have no shrink wrap except for this?

Anyway, 4 runners, as usual from the EG line

No major botch ups as well, except maybe I smudged the red at the back while I was painting, oh well...

Final product, I like it

Presenting, the entire EG line

Basically I bought this line to practice painting on my more expensive models to prevent botch ups. But they look good anyway so why not keep them?

1/144 EG 00

Twin GN drives, the 00 Gundam, almost godlike except it needs 0 Raiser to stabilize the GN Drives...

Bouht it with the RX-78-2

4 runners, not much

No major botchups, painting is a significant improvment from the RX-78-2, masking used for some hard to reach areas but otherwise, I did not use masking for most of the model

Final product, powerful with the GN blade

1/144 EG RX-78-2

Ah the classic Gundam, what most old Gundam fans think of when they hear the word "Gundam"

Bought it with the 00, wanted to buy Exia and 00 first actually but Exia was OOS at that store

Very few runners, 4 at most

First time I tried masking on this... but I botched up, paint seeps into the masking... had to scratch it off using my knife softly (I don't have thinner)

End product is not too bad for the 2nd try...
